Hi, I’m Max.

Curiosity gets me into things.
Building gets me out of them.

01 / Making things

I love building tools that make life a little simpler. Sometimes useful. Sometimes just because.

Looking up a few things I’ve made…

02 / Unusual questions

Lately: AI, video analysis, and how machines understand what they see.

I’m deeply interested in the technology and pessimistic about where it’s heading, especially recursive self-improvement.

03 / Back on court

I played tennis at a pretty high level back in high school. I’m getting back into it now and learning table tennis along the way.

Apparently one racket sport wasn’t enough.

04 / Further afield

I love travelling. New places, different rhythms, and a little distance from the usual routine.

05 / The factory must grow

I’ve always loved video games, even if I have less time for them lately. Factorio: Space Age is the one that keeps pulling me back.

Just one more improvement…

The factory isn’t connected yet.

There’s usually a footnote.
